Broadening Perspectives, Individualizing Care
Lactation Care for Every Body brings perinatal professionals together to expand the way we think about support beyond the "textbook" breastfeeding experience.
Through diverse perspectives and evidence-based education, we'll explore how different bodies, feeding challenges, family structures, medical complexities, and lived experiences can impact individual care. This conference is an opportunity to broaden our clinical lens while gathering in a beautiful setting with colleagues who share our commitment to inclusive lactation support.
Join us at the stunning Beach House Hilton Head Island for three days of expert-led sessions, meaningful connection, and continuing education, all set against the backdrop of the South Carolina coast.

AGENDA
Ellen Chetwynd · PhD MPH BSN IBCLC
Breastfeeding is a complex system, and persistent breastfeeding difficulties require lactation consultants and breastfeeding support professionals to move beyond the assessment of infant oral structures or latch. Body-Led Breastfeeding is both a framework for assessment and a set of specific tools designed to build on existing clinical skills to observe, define, and address the forces behind suck dysfunction.
Melissa Cole · MS, IBCLC, PMH-C
Induced lactation can be a deeply meaningful goal—and there is rarely a one-size-fits-all pathway for achieving it. While pharmaceutical protocols may be appropriate for some families, others may prefer, require, or benefit from exploring additional options.
Rachel Freund · MD, IBCLC
Gain confidence in recognizing sensory sensitivities in babies and practical strategies for calming their nervous systems. Explore the impact of Autism and ADHD on lactation and parenting and learn ways to help support these families.
Hope Lima · PhD, RD, IBCLC
Conversations about body weight have long been embedded in pregnancy, postpartum care, and lactation—and the rapid expansion of GLP-1 receptor agonist use is adding new complexity to those conversations. Lactation professionals are increasingly encountering patients who used these medications before pregnancy, are considering restarting them postpartum, or have questions about their compatibility with breastfeeding.
Applications for IBLCE CERPs and nursing NCPD contact hours will be submitted once the conference program is finalized. Credit details will be shared as they are confirmed. No need to wait to register! All attendees will be eligible to receive the continuing education credits offered for the conference.
